Residential Life
Student Housing offers residential options to over 5,000 students each year, a number that includes guaranteed housing to the freshman class (approximately 90 percent of incoming freshmen live in campus residence halls). As part of the experience, Student Housing presents a robust program of residential education and community-building events. The department is committed to supporting inclusive communities that value the diverse cultural heritages, experiences and identities that all residents bring to the campus, and strives to foster cultural awareness, knowledge and understanding through educational programming.
Throughout the year, Resident Advisers, the Student Housing Diversity Committee and professional staff offer a range of programs and events that celebrate and increase understanding of diversity within the residence halls. There are also many informational programs that are facilitated or promoted through the Dining Commons and on bulletin boards in the halls on such topics as: Women and gender, Nature Based Religions, Culture, etc.
